A second kind of online casino poker exists. It’s a broad category of games that we called “table poker”. Basically, table poker is a set of table games based on the rules of poker.

It uses the poker hand rankings — but then, most card games in a casino do.

Red Dog has a strange number of alternate names: Maverick, Acey-Deucey, Between the Sheets, In-Between, and Yablon. The premise is super simple. The dealer deals two cards and your goal is to predict whether the next card drawn will be between those two card ranks. So if the first two cards are a 5 and a 10, then the third card would need to be a 5, 7, 8, or 9 if you wanted to win. The “spread” — or the number of possible winning card ranks — also plays a role in the payouts.

Also, the ace is always a high card in Red Dog. It can’t be a low card. That’s why the game is called Acey-Deucey in some places because those two cards bracket the high end and the low end of the card ranks. Speaking of which, you might have encountered this game under a certain number of aliases.
